Who founded the Team, when and why?

- I founded the Team in May,2019. Long story short, I knew some of the football players who asked me to join the (nonexisting-)Cheer-team. But there was no Cheer-team, so I decided to found one (of course this was agreed). Through connections I then came across private Cheer- coachings where I learned everything about Cheerleading. The rest happened by itself. With time more and more girls came and stayed and were able to get excited about the sport. If someone left the team, they were quickly replaced. 

What type of Cheerleading do you do?

- We are doing Sideline- Cheerleading. Sideline Cheerleading is a term sometimes used to differentiate between team support Cheerleading and competitive Cheerleading, even though not all cheering may be done on the sidelines. Sideline cheers are performed on the periphery of the field or court to encourage the team and keep the audience energized while the game is going on.

Any difficulties?

- yes of course. The problem is that the most people (especially in Germany) only know Cheerleading from movies. In those Cheerleaders are shown as dumb girls, who jump around in skimpy clothing and have only interest in the football players. It is our greatest difficulty not to draw this cliché on us.

What's the Teams name and why?

- we are the Schweinfurt Twisters. Schweinfurt stands for our city and Twisters for a powerful Twister. The name was a proposal of a football player.
